Iss is expanding its field of activity by approaching the food and beverage sector by introducing cutting-edge technologies such as multispectral imaging systems and deep learning and machine learning paradigms.
The development of these technologies takes place with the TESORO project, financed by MISE, under which a robotic automatic sorting system capable of performing quality controls will be developed that will set a new benchmark in the sector.
For the food sector, quality control is as fundamental as in the manufacturing sector, perhaps even more so. In fact, in the food sector, not only must geometrical characteristics such as shape, size, visual defects be respected, but also intrinsic quality characteristics, linked to biological parameters of the matrix itself.
The MISE finances technological innovation for automatic sorting machines.
As part of the TESORO Project, financed by MIMIT, ISS developed a multispectral vision system capable of integrating the sorting function and quality control of sliced vegetables.
ISS is continuing the development of its robot guidance systems by developing an industrial research project within the framework of the INNODRIVER S3...
