Bin Picking: metal stamping has never been easier
Stamping of metallic materials (forging) involves the singularization of bar sections for loading the presses or furnaces that perform preheating. This function is normally accomplished by means of complex, bulky, difficult to reconfigure and particularly noisy mechanical equipment. By means of a robot and 3D CPS, it is possible to simply realize this function by going to pick up the metal bar sections directly in the bin, thus obtaining a compact, easily reconfigurable (format change becomes a simple recipe change), silent and economical loading system.
The example at the following video, made by INDUCTION srl, with 3D CPS 4.0 L operating with a Fanuc robot, allows handling of both high length chunks semi-ordered in the bin and smaller parts arranged in bulk.
